I grew up in Central Minnesota always with a passion in creating art. Growing up dancing, painting, drawing, and learning how to sew in junior high created a need for me to design clothing for others.
I always questioned why clothing was made a certain way, and how to change the fit or color to make it better.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor’s of Science in Apparel Design and Development with two minors in Retail and Business Administration. Studying abroad in Italy for 4 months inspired me to create my senior capsule collection revolving around luxury resort wear, Lacuna.
After graduation, I took on the role of a designer and pattern maker at Just For Kix creating dance costumes and athletic clothing. Soon I started working simultaneously for their sister company, MoveU and expanded into childrenswear, womenswear and menswear brands that include cut and sew knit garments, and practice and performance athletic garments in sports such as dance, yoga, cheer, fishing, trapshooting, cycling, hockey, and curling.
Throughout my years in the industry, I have experienced the entire product design process for a multiple brand company, from initial market research to mood board creation to sketching/designing to delivering and marketing the end product.
Also, have multiple years of experience in the technical design process from the initial start of the development of patterns, construction of the garment, creation of technical packets, textile research, illustration sketches, and technical flat CADs, to conducting fittings, finalizing the fit and garment production.
I have always wanted to dress women and create unique, one-of-a-kind garments that fit their style and body. When one of my friends reached out to me to create an evening dress for Miss Minnesota, I couldn’t refuse. Not only did she win Miss Minnesota but she won the Eveningwear competition. This launched me into creating custom designs for those who wanted a garment that fits and feels amazing just for them.
